Do you know what the “s” in “https” means?

Can internet service providers (ISPs) see the sites you visit while utilizing the “private browsing” mode on your internet browsers?

These and other questions are part of a study conducted by the Pew Research Center. The survey found that many Americans are unclear about some key cybersecurity topics, terms and concepts, such as what makes up a strong password and how security public WiFi is. Of the original 13 questions, only two were answered correctly by at least 70% of respondents. Terms like ransomware, botnet and two-factor authentication all tripped up a majority of respondents.

Pew conducted an online survey June 17-27, 2016, of 1,055 adult internet users living in the United States.
